Loving life!
Welcome to the romantic month of 2010! Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day time and to celebrate, I’ll be on stage in the cabaret, “Postcards from Paris” at the Arts Theatre Club, 11-14 Feb, in East London. You can also catch me singing silly love songs on Sun 14 Feb at Hemingways Mall amphitheatre, East London, from 12-3pm. Check out my gigs page for more info on these and other gigs.
As for farming, well, we’ve found our little slice of heaven (view some pics here) and are in the process of moving in, after Pinewood Homes did a marvellous renovation of the derelict barn into a lovely 2 bed home. Pickme Farm is about 40km north-east of East London, just off the N2 highway. Feel free to pop in! We’ve chased cows, met the local ground hornbills, lost two windows to a kamikaze long-tailed wagtail and I’ve mowed more grass than I thought was possible in a lifetime. Not to mention becoming expert tick-pickers! I’ve become emotionally bound to rain clouds, militant about saving water, and supremely frustrated at the sight of litter. It’s also nice to be back “home” in the Eastern Cape and rekindling old school friendships as well as interacting with some of the friendliest people I think South Africa has to offer.
Wishing you a month of romance and good time!
